STEAM Soup

Moms and Micro:Bits

Join us for this fun evening workshop to explore the lastest in coding and physical computing. Get a head of the curve and be a part of understanding the skills needed for the future workforce. Getting prepared for computer science in your childs classroom has never been easier with MakeCode and Micro:Bit together.
Bring your PTA together to learn about resources to empower your district and have fun getting creative with coding and physical computing with Micro:Bit.
Scalable to student’s interest and ability, designed for the K-8 market, Micro:Bit works with popular programming languages, and the Microcontroller has applications in robotics, wearables, and machines.  Learning to work with the Micro:Bit introduces students to real world applicable uses of technology incorporated with coding skills.  This combination of hardware and software skills builds a foundation for students to expand and learn engineering concepts tied to computer science competencies.
Learning has never been more fun, and you get to take home a Micro:Bit to use again and again with your child or in your classroom. Designed to have participants learn what a microcontroller is and how to use it in fun activities that teach foundational concepts in engineering and computer science.
